ITS NOT GOD’S FAULT

      By Billie-Marie Zal

When something horrible happens, the first thing I hear from people is the question, “How can a loving God permit such things?”

It is ridiculous that anyone could accuse God of anything. We are His creation, He has given us the answer to every dilemma we might ever face, and has offered us eternal life and forgiveness of sins through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, the Lord.

Yet people do accuse Him of injustice, cruelty, and diabolical things which could only come from the devil Himself.

A child can be kidnaped and raped and killed and the public screams, “How can God let such a thing happen?”

What the public does not acknowledge is the filth which we are fed from morning to night through the media. The ideal young girl is pictured as a lovely young thing, wearing pants that are so tight she can barely sit down, a “bare midriff,” and a blouse two or three sizes too tight for her. She wears makeup that accentuates the eyes, and the lips, and she swings seductively as she struts past young men. This is our “All American Young Lady.” And Mothers permit it and push their daughters into show business, “beauty pageants,” and every kind of activity that produces self indulgence and self love.

What the public also does not acknowledge is that men who are well past the time of sexual “performance” are buying up the drug, “Viagra.” and trying to recapture what God does not give to men in later years. We are having a sexual epidemic that surpasses anything that humans experienced in the “60's.” But this time, it is hidden and kept secret by those who indulge in pornographic movies, magazines, and TV programs. People are into horrible things such as “Sadism,” “Sex toys,” and women having sex with women, and men with men. And then we hear of sex crimes occurring rapidly every day and everyone screams, “How can God permit such things to happen?”

I was reading a chapter in the Book of Jeremiah this morning, and in that Book, the King of Judah, Zedekiah, sent Pashhur and Zephaniah to inquire of the Lord to see if Nebuchadrezzar, King of Babylon, would be able to take Jerusalem, or Judah would prevail.

In today’s society it “isn’t nice” to speak of “negative things.” If someone “tells it like it is,” people accuse the individual of a “gloom and doom” message. Well, let me tell you that we had better listen to those who speak “gloom and doom” to anyone who will listen because God's judgment is coming as surely as a sun rise comes or a full moon rises in its appointed time. God has given us a lifetime to get to know Him and learn His ways, and if we don't know Him, then there is no chance for us to survive spiritually. We can become successful, make lots of money, and accrue to ourselves friends who praise us. But God is silent.

You would expect Zedekiah to get “good news from God” when he inquired of God; but listen to what God said to Him:

“Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, of which ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, who besiege you outside the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

“And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast; they shall die of a great pestilence.

“And afterward, saith the Lord, I will deliver Zedekiah, king of Judah, and his servants, and the people and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life; and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy,

“And unto this people thou shall say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death..

“He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prize.

“For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord; it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

“ ......I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the Lord, and I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all things round about it” (Jeremiah 21:4-14.)

Now then---can you who read these words accuse God of injustice? No way. Because in this chapter, nineteen years separated the prophecies addressed by Jeremiah to these two priests, and now they come back to him on the eve of the destruction of Jerusalem. Therefore, God had given them plenty of time to repent and they would not.

In fact, when Jeremiah uttered the prophecies nineteen years previously, the reaction to God’s Word was intense wrath and Jeremiah was scourged first, then placed into the stocks for about a day and night. Scourging is done by whips with embedded sharp pieces of metal and it usually “shreds” the skin of a human. And the stock was a beam of timber with five holes in it through which the head, the hands, and the feet were thrust, thus binding the body so as to cause great suffering, Imagine Jeremiah’s intense physical suffering; but his heart was so tender that the pain of preaching to a people who “held him in derision daily far worse. In other words, the people made fun of him and denied the existence of the God who spoke through him.

You might wonder, why did God pour out such divine wrath upon this place? The king had hoped to form an alliance with Egypt but God had prevented it. God cannot tolerate idolatry, in whatever form it comes, and these people had tortured their children who were burned alive in sacrifice to Moloch. In my student’s commentary, the author states, “Such cruelty to children never was contemplated by the loving heart of God.” It wasn't God’s fault that the city must be destroyed and overtaken by the Chaldeans. It was man’s fault.

In our day, we might expect severe judgment. There is the same sexual perversion, love of self (the worst kind of idolatry) and hatred of Truth.

Pastors and evangelists today will not speak the Truth. If they do, I do not hear it on the channels which are called “Christian broadcasting.” It’s all fun and games, and how good God is, and we can have anything we want for the asking, and angels, and happiness right down here on earth. I’ve seen these people start out, years ago, with Truth being the central core of their messages. But as they became “popular” and got wealth (so-called from God, we are the King’s kids, they say, and should have the best),. they cut down their messages and they speak nothing but air. Yet their buildings are filled and the money comes pouring in.

But let a preacher get up and begin to speak “the Word of the Lord” in judgment, he disappears and I never see him again. One couple was touched by God and shown the idolatry within the Church system today. They made their claim that they were finished with such a system and then a couple of years later when the going got tough and all their Christian friends scorned them, they came back, and of course were welcomed with joy and gladness. This grieves the heart of our God, and what the professing Church is doing will eventually bring down His wrath and judgment. I read once that “God’s wrath is as perfect as His Love,” and it sent chills down my spine. And believe me, I didn’t speak in tongues or get “slain in the spirit.” I made my vow unto God that I would serve Him and keep the faith no matter what.

God has given the Church---His Son’s Body members on earth---plenty of time to turn back from the world and seek His holiness. But nothing has happened because it costs us everything TO BE HIS REPRESENTATIVE ON EARTH.

He calls us out---from homes, prisons, businesses, colleges-- to be His Light in a world void of Light. To speak His Truth in a world void of Truth. And to die, not only to self, but to be martyred, if that be His will, rather than compromise and water down the Truths who tell us who God really is.

Once in awhile I am blessed to see Satan’s hold broken on some individual. Not often, but once in awhile. And when that hold is broken things begin to happen. The Viagra is thrown away, the subscriptions to sex books and porn stop. The children begin to be disciplined and mothers stop trying to live out their own daughters’ lives by handing the children over to the God of the World where they dance and swivel and offer themselves to the God of Filth.

. I’ve walked my pilgrim journey on this earth for almost fifty years since that wonderful. cold winter night in Moody Church in Chicago. I had become completely embittered by my own sin, and I had sought (so I thought) to obey God and had failed. I loved Him from infancy and never thought of Him as unjust or unkind. No matter what happened I knew instinctively that He was there---He knew me---and I would go to hell if I died.

But on that night so long ago, I walked into that huge building and the presence of God’s Holy Spirit manifested His Love and mercy to me, and I began to cry. My heart longed to have His presence in my life and I began to hear a voice at my left shoulder. “Don’t go down to that altar when the invitation is given.....people think you are a good Christian, and they will think you are crazy.” But at my right shoulder, I felt the compelling Presence saying to me, “It’s time to make your life a highway for others to pass over. It’s time to become my child and be set free.”

I do remember saying to myself, “I don’t care what anyone thinks, I am going down to meet my Father and become His child.” And I ran down that aisle into the loving presence of God Almighty.

I’ve seen it all , heard it all, and have prayed continually for God to call people unto Himself before that judgment falls and as the Bible says, “The harvest is passed, and we are not saved.”

I’ve kept the faith, along with the other six who have come to know that this world cannot last forever. Sin in the Church cannot be exposed. People don’t want to hear the Truth.

But by His grace, I take up my cross daily and follow Him. He told me years ago, in His Word, that I would be hated above all men for the Gospel’s sake. Those who know Him and have committed to Him do not blame Him when we are forgotten by our families and ignored by the world around us. It really doesn’t matter. He is God and besides Him, there is no other.

If you believe His Word and are ready to accept the challenge of a life used by God to show the Way to His deliverance, then it’s time. Thank God He gives us time, He could have destroyed everything long ago but His Love has kept His hand back and there is still time.

I have always kept a journal of my pilgrimage and several years ago, God sent me a warning concerning judgment. In the dream I saw a monstrous funnel cloud approaching from the East. I stood at the front door and screamed for the others here to come and pray for deliverance. We did pray and as we prayed this horrible cloud was pulled back. From that time on, it is my duty to warn and to reveal a loving God who wants our deliverance from certain death. God can set your free and eternal life is yours. It won’t be God’s fault if you go to hell..

Earl Frederick, Sr. Born June 4, 1951 - Executed July 20, 2002
Earl Frederick, Sr., is “absent from the body, present with the Lord.” He longed for the day that he would be set free from any earthly bondage and “go Home.”

I’ve thought of so many things about him that I might share with you; things he said, things he thought about dying. And I decided to put down his last thoughts before that wonderful day when the angels escorted him from a gurney in the “Death Room” to Life Eternal.

FROM HIS FINAL LETTERS TO ME:

“Well, my journey here is almost at its end. My going home date has been set for July 30th.

“This has been a very long journey for me, sister, and it is with a heavy heart when I think of all the ones I care for, such as yourself, that I’ll be leaving behind. But you know my prayers will always be with you and brother Rodney and the others at Wingspread.

“I could never begin to express with words, how much it has truly meant to me to have had you as part of my life. You have made such a great impact in my life, sister. It’s been through you that I’ve learned the deepest meaning of compassion. I truly believe that God brings people across one another’s path for a reason. So when I stand before Him I shall give Him great praise and thanks for having brought you across mine.

“I believe the most amazing thing about you has been the fact that it was never difficult for you to look beyond the person I once was. God has given you the eyes to see beyond all the bad, and to help so many discover the love God truly has for everyone. You look for the goodness inside each person,

“I think the best way for me to put it is something I once read about Michelangelo. When asked what he was doing with his chisel and a stone, he replied, ‘I saw the angel in the marble, and carved until I set him free.’

“This is what you do for each one of us, Billie..”

Earl is HOME now, and in my spirit I know that he has kept his promise and is praying for each of us here, knowing that one wonderful day he will be there when we shed these mortal bodies and are “present with the Lord.”

     .
